In Memoriam of Major Coleman
St. Helena Parish

Major was a vibrant man who loved his community and the people in it. He sat on many boards and was active in various groups showing his deep-rooted love and passion for inspiring change to better the community he loved. While the list of things he did was numerous, I would like to emphasize what he did specifically for our library and the system. He was part of the original team that wanted to get the St. Helena Branch a new building. Even through all the trials and downfalls they faced, he persevered through it all. He had always advocated for the employees as well. He pushed for better wages for staff, encouraged the opportunity for insurance, and always had our best interest at heart. He was a man of the people, for the people, and he will be deeply missed. He left a legacy that will never be forgotten by his family, the communities he served, or the library and the staff that he always looked out for.
